There is a reason why life doesn’t get better for you and it’s because you have taken no action to change it. In the past, you have probably confided in someone about a problem you were facing in life and then the person responds with “don’t worry, things will get better” I know it’s happened to me plenty of times and it’s pretty useless advice. You will realize that it has been months or even years later and nothing has gotten better like they said it would.
How are things supposed to get better if you don’t make an active effort to do something about it? If you wake up every day thinking the same thoughts, doing the same old habits, and speaking the same way, things will stay exactly the same as they are.
Change can be uncomfortable, and it can be scary, but it’s necessary if you want to see progress in your life. You have to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. Whether it’s trying a new hobby, taking a different route to work, or even just changing up your daily routine, small changes can make a big difference.

If you are feeling unhappy about a breakup, a death, a job loss, or dealing with straight-up depression, you have to make an active effort to do something about it. There are certain things that can only heal with time, but many things in our life can be overcome if we just take some action. I have been in some very dark places mentally before and absolutely nothing got better in my life until I decided to take make a change.
You Have To Make A Choice
The only person who can make things better is you. You have to make the choice to create a new reality for yourself and focus your energy on a positive future. It is 100% possible to completely change your reality by only using your mind and I came to understand this when I started lucid dreaming.
In normal dreams, things just happen to you and you are not in control. There are some people who suffer from nightmares on a nightly basis and don’t realize that there is a solution. You can actually reverse a nightmare and turn it into a completely different dream when you become lucid. This same thing applies to real life.
You don’t have to be stuck in an endless nightmare. You can use your mind to change things, but you have to put in the effort. There are three things that I implemented in my life that I can say really helped me see positive change. Those things are meditation, reading, and working out.
Meditation Can Help You Feel Better
I believe that meditation is the number one thing people should try if they feel stuck in a dark place. Meditation gives you the ability to get in touch with your thoughts and emotions. It makes you realize that emotions can really be changed from negative to positive within a few minutes. The effects of a really solid meditation can last the whole day or even days. There’s something really powerful about just shutting everything off from the outside world and just getting in tune with yourself.
You will start to question why you have been thinking certain things and feeling certain ways that were not beneficial for you for so many years. Meditation also gives you the opportunity to visualize a different life for yourself. Visualization is one of the key techniques used when it comes to manifesting. If you imagine something in first person view and believe it has already happened, you can attract it into your life.
The best thing about mediation is it’s free and you can find so many guided meditations online for any area of your life you want to change. Try it out for yourself and see.
Reading Can Help You Feel Better
Reading allows you to view life from different perspectives which I think is important to creating change in your life. I can almost guarantee that whatever problems you are facing, it has been overcome by someone and a book has been made about it. Most of the time there’s no one in your immediate circle or family that can give you the advice you need.
The book that had the biggest impact on my life was “Feeling Is The Secret” by Neville Goddard which I did a post on a while back. It really made me understand that things can change very quickly in your life based on your feelings alone. It is definitely a book I think you should check out.
If you don’t like to read, there are always audiobooks as well. I listen to them on a daily basis just to keep my mind right. Although reading is wonderful, you have to be careful with getting stuck in the reading loop and not actually taking any actions that are recommended in the books.
I did that exact thing for quite a while. I would buy book after book and soak up so much knowledge but not do anything with it. You have to actually take the actions recommended in the books or else you will not see anything change.
Working Out Makes You Feel Better
You’ve probably heard this so many times but working out can really make a big difference in your life. I honestly feel the best about myself when I’m consistently working out. Studies have shown that your brain releases more dopamine when you are consistently working out. More dopamine equals better moods and overall happiness. I really believe that working out is something you have to do even if you don’t feel like it. I almost never feel like working out but as soon as I’m finished, I’m happy I did it. I’ve also found that if you visualize yourself working out before doing it, you will most likely do it.
You can literally do anything you put your mind to. It doesn’t matter what your current situation is right now, you can use your mind to change it. It all just starts with you taking a tiny bit of action and believing in yourself.
